A small vacation home nestled within a spruce forest on a steep mountainside in Breckenridge, Colorado. The project prioritizes construction techniques that respond to environmental concerns, such as a low slope roof in order to utilize snow as insulation and being cantilevered to prevent snow build-up along its walls. The cabin also seeks to reinforce the user experience of ascending into the mountain landscape by hiding most of the house within the trees and by emphasizing important views down the slope.
